Why the Wagars are what they are

My friends brother has Leukemia. He is in need of a bone marrow transplant. On November 1st go to www.Marrow.org to sign up for a free test to see if you are compatible with him or anyone else that is in need of a transplant. If you don't sign up on Nov.1st it will cost $45.00 I think for test fee. All that you do is use your saliva no pain involved to test.

Please treat this as if it were like your best friend or brother...Cause to my friend it is....Thanks...

I am gonna give it a try...

So after my thinking, praying, research, I am gonna take a Prenatal Yoga class. I don't think I can know my personal vibe that I get from Yoga unless I take a class. I have always been someone who cant focus on being a lotus flower, or imagining i can breathe with the sound of rolling waves(at my doula training i had to imagine these things) but i will TRY and put my game face on...
Is there only that one place in Corvallis that teaches prenatal yoga? I don't wanna do the gym yoga classes...

Nalia would not smile in most of these pictures.... Silly Girl....

History of Yoga – What is Yoga?Today, many people are taking up yoga techniques for physical exercise, and most don’t know the history of yoga. They believe there is nothing wrong with implementing this form of exercise into their daily regiment to promote a more healthy body.

However, the practice of yoga is much more than a system of physical exercise for health. Yoga is an ancient path to spiritual growth, and originates out of India where Induism is practiced. The practice and goal of yoga dates back to the Upanishads, written between 1000-5000 BC.

History of Yoga – Is it spiritual?
The history of yoga is based in the Indus Valley civilization. The techniques are practiced by the Indus to initiate spiritual growth. The yogis encourage union with the finite jiva (transitory self) and with the infinite Brahman (eternal self). Brahman is a term used by the Hindus to mean “God.” So, what are we supposed to unite with? Yogis usually think of God as an impersonal, spiritual substance, coexisting with all of reality. This doctrine is called pantheism which is the view that everything is God. In the Bible, God reveals Himself as the personal Creator of the universe.

Since it is taught by the yogis that everything is God, it then stands to reason, man is God. Christianity, on the other hand, teaches us there is a clear distinction between man and God. Since God is the Creator, we are one of his creations and created “in the image” of God.

Unlike the yogis, the Bible presents man’s primary problem to be sin -- a failure to conform to God’s character and standards. The solution is Jesus Christ’s death on the cross. He calls men to freely receive all the benefits of His salvation through faith in Christ alone.

Yoga views man’s problem primarily in terms of ignorance. Man simply does not understand he is God so the solution is enlightenment, or an experience of union with God. In order to reach that goal, there must be a lot of striving and effort which is not needed in the Christian viewpoint.

History of Yoga - Is yoga safe?
Can the methods used in the yoga techniques for exercising be separated from the philosophy? The answer is a distinctive “no” because yoga is considered to be a practice of psychosomatic exercises. There is no way to separate the two. The yoga scholar will tell you that in order to practice yoga in the fullest, one must experience what is called the “kundalini” effect within meditation. What does this mean? For spiritual lessons to be grasped by the soul within the person, the chakra, or different locations within the body where a circle of metaphysical and/or biophysical energy resides, join together in the process. Kundilini stimulates the chakra center to open and release the energy held within. If not done properly, some believe that a person can injure the brain.

By researching the history of yoga, we learn that it is not safe spiritually. Yoga teaches us to focus on ourselves instead of on the one true God. It encourages us to seek the answers to life's difficult questions within our own conscience instead of in the Bible. It also leaves one open to deception from Satan, who searches for victims that he can turn away from God (1 Peter 5:8).

I love the whole Zen, Fung Shui theme that is going on...Yoga is another one of those things that I like the "idea" of. I really want this pregnancy to be "ZEN".
With yoga I have heard that it is not a good thing to open yourself up to. Then on the other hand I hear that its just a relaxing thing to do that is "healthy".
I read 3 different sites and this one was the most detail about what it really means... When i read this article i thought of that Joke of a book (personal opinion) called "The Secret" how if your "believe in yourSELF" anything is possible. I think that it takes the focus off God, but on the other hand we are a very selfish generation that some think the more the better...
Another thought is that they have mommy baby yoga? Is that opening your baby up to something that is not good? hmmmmmmmmm....
I am a very BLACK and WHITE person... I am going to do something cause i believe in it and its origin and i am aware of what i am opening my self up to. I always have a audience of one watching me and soon 2 will be watching me. I don't want to start doing something and make up my own meaning to what I am participating in... i hope this makes sense...

What are your thoughts..is Yoga a GO? Or stay Far away? My opinion is not yet decided but i am leaning towards a No...well see.....

Why do you participate in Halloween? Have you ever really thought of what Halloween means? Is it simply cute witches, smiling ghosts, friendly graveyards and black cats that are only a little scary? Or is it something much, much more - with a terrifying past and leading unsuspecting people into other dangerous paths? How do you explain this increasingly dangerous night? 'Oh, it's not so bad.' Or is it?

It all started thousands of years ago by people called Celts, who were primarily from Britain and France. They worshipped mother nature and many other gods, similar to America today. Among their gods were the sun, and spirits of woods and streams. The cold, short days of winter, along with the 'disappearance of the sun,' were a great mystery to the Celts and filled them with fear and superstition. So, they made up a lie that each year the sun god was attacked by the evil powers of cold and darkness and was held prisoner for six months.

The Celts called winter the 'season of death' and believed it was ruled by Samhain (the devil), the Lord of the Dead and Prince of Darkness, who called together all the dead, wicked souls who had died in the last year and, to pay for their sins, had been condemned to inhabit the bodies of animals. The greater the person's sins, the lower the animal into which his or her soul had been placed. The Festival of Samhain, held on October 31st (the day before winter began), was for the Celts, a 'celebration' of death, to honor and 'worship' their sun god, the spirits and Samhain.

Druids, men who were the Celts' priests and teachers, would lead the fanatical night ceremonies. The Druids, who practiced witchcraft and fortune telling, believed that on Halloween, the ghosts, spirits, fairies, witches, and elves of the dead returned to their former homes and came out to harm crops and trouble the Celtic people.

To protect themselves, they built huge 'bonfires' (actually called 'bonefires' back then - used to destroy the bones) on the hilltops next to an altar. There they worshipped the Lord of the Dead, Samhain, and killed livestock, burned crops, and burned imprisoned cats in wicker baskets.

They also imprisoned people and their own children in wicker cages built to resemble animals, and burned them to death as sacrifices, all for the Prince of Death. They did all this to 'keep away evil spirits and demons.' Not exactly roasting marshmallows and shouting 'Boo!'

The Romans, years later and at harvest time, laid out apples and nuts for their fruit and garden goddess called Pomona. Still later, the early Roman Catholic Church contribution to Halloween was a considerable one. Rather than obliterate pagan ways, shrewd Church leaders set about conforming existing pagan rites into their new Christian ones.

As the Catholic Church conquered the German Saxons and the Norsemen of Scandinavia and to accommodate the vanquished peoples insistence of practicing the ancient Druid and pagan holidays, the Church in 835 A.D approved November 1st as All Saints' Day or All Hallows (all 'holies'), a holiday (holy day) to honor all saints.

They also added All Souls Day on November 2nd to honor all dead people and built 'bonefires,' had parades and dressed up like saints, angels and devils (sound familiar?). However, the people refused to give up the Samhain and Ponoma customs and continued to 'celebrate' them on October 31st.

By now called The Night of the Witches Sabbath, the event was devoted to the dead, 'stealing souls' and where the devil was worshipped by all his followers - witches, warlocks and demons. They all gathered to perform cruel, sadistic acts, and to mock the coming of the Church's festival of All Saints Day on November 1st, the very next day. The Church leaders hoped that, by making November 1st a religious holiday, the evil, pagan rituals that had survived over the centuries would be forgotten. It didn't work. The rituals continued. The Church, ironically, gave the day its name, calling it All Hallows' Eve. Eventually, the name was shortened to Hallowe'en, and then to Halloween.

Thus, Pomona gave us apples and nuts; Samhain gave us death, sacrifices, witches, fortune telling, magic and evils spirits; All Saints and Souls Day gave us ghosts, skeletons and skulls. Not a wonderful family influence. There are now dozens of Halloween divination (fortune telling) games that use apples and nuts to predict one's future. In some countries, people thought a sneeze on Halloween would shot the soul out of the body for a second and the devil could take the soul to hell in that time. Quickly saying, 'God bless you' protected the loose soul from the devil, they thought.

The 'tradition' of wearing Halloween costumes is greatly misunderstood. People don't realize what they're really doing and if someone asks them why they often respond with, '...because everybody else is doing it!!'

Many of our misunderstood Halloween customs came from the land of the Celts and Druids. Remember Sanhaim, the Lord of Death and his 'festival'? The Druids believed that on this night the souls of the dead returned to their former homes to be entertained by the living. Evil spirits demanded to be satisfied with a 'treat' consisting of acceptable food and shelter. If not provided, they would cast spells, cause havoc and terror, as well as haunt and torment the living.

On that night, people were afraid to be alone so they paraded in costumes made from the skins and heads of animals. They thought this pleased Samhain and would 'keep away the evil spirits and demons' by disguising themselves as one of them. By playing this 'trick' on them, the evil spirits would think the Celts were one of them and so be left alone. Look closely! Here is the beginning of 'Trick-or-Treat.'

This custom has been passed down to today's American culture and hardly anybody realizes its significance or how it originated. It was the Church that firmly established the custom of visiting house to house on All Hallows Eve - a practice that evolved into America's 'Trick-or-Treat.'

The Celts also carried lights, carved out of turnips, to keep away evil spirits when they went outside on October 31st. Later on, an old Irish story developed. Once there was a man named Jack who was very mean, stingy and tricky. When he died, he had been too mean to go to Heaven, but when alive, he had 'tricked' the devil to keep his soul from hell. Jack had no place to go, so the devil threw him a piece of burning coal.

'Put this into the turnip you are eating,' he told Jack. 'This will be your lantern.' Jack is still walking with his lantern, looking for a place to stay.

Years later, children carved grinning faces on the turnips. They were called 'bogies' (the 'bogie' man), but soon the name turned to 'jack-o'-lanterns.' In America, we use pumpkins carved with faces, to keep the devil 'away.'

Article after article in the media graphically reports Satanic activity during the Halloween observance. 'We enjoy the commercial exploitation of the public at Halloween.. it's free publicity,' commented a Satanic high priest in one interview. He went on to say that most people have now fully accepted the 'Halloween tradition' of 'ghosts, witches and evil spirits' as the costumes of people. In fact, The Festival of Sanhaim remains a principal sabbath among modern day witches and other neo-pagans. So much for 'good, clean fun.'

Halloween really is a Satanic 'holiday,' but not many of us know the whole truth, or want to realize it. We should face that truth, even if it is frightening and bizarre. 'Well, that may be true, but I would never get involved with anything like that. Oh, it's not so bad,' you say.

Would you take poison a drop at a time knowing it wouldn't kill you immediately? Does a 'little' bit of evil lead to a little greater evil? Hitler and Stalin murdering millions. Ted Bundy raping and dismembering coeds. Madonna pretending (?) to have sex with animals. Kids worshipping and sacrificing living things to Satan. Did they all start that way? Or was it a gradual decline? Where do these people start their pursuit of this evil? Do their parents say, 'Oh, it's not so bad?' What do you think?
'Oh, it would never happen to me or my kids?' Oh? Have you ever seen a beach erode a little at a time? What if years from now your daughter or son ended up off the deep end in one of these evil, scandalous situations? Can you be 100% certain they won't? Is this Halloween stuff safe? Do you want that responsibility of contributing to their fall on your conscience and record before facing God at the Judgment Seat?

Ever wonder what Almighty God Himself has to say about all of this? What does His Holy Bible have to say? If the Bible isn't perfectly true, then why can't skeptics find any errors in it, and why does the President of the United States place his hand upon the Bible and swear to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to uphold the truth in leading our country?

For our protection, well-being and safety, God provides Truth for us to obey: 'You shall not practice witchcraft or fortune telling.'1 Also, 'Do not turn to ghosts or spirits...do not seek them out...'2 Why not? Jesus knows all about the likes of a Hitler or Stalin. And Bundy. And Madonna. And the Satan worshippers. He knows exactly where they started their slide toward deeper and deeper evil.

God's holiness is perfect, and His love pours out on us as He warns of sliding deeper into evil. For our own welfare, He says, 'Abstain from every form of evil.'3 and 'Let us have a genuine hatred for evil and a real devotion to good.'4 Also, ' Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them.'5 Finally, '...whatever is true...honorable ...right...pure...lovely... let your mind dwell on these things.'6

The devil and his evil demons haven't changed since God threw them out of Heaven ages ago in their rebellion toward Him, and He gave them limited rights to cause evil on earth. Jesus Christ Himself confronts them over 75 times in the Bible.

The devil isn't an ugly, red creature with horns and a pitchfork. He is a brilliant minded, evil reality that can win peoples affections with appealing lies - twisting the truth just a bit to get people like you and I running downhill out of control. If this were not so, why is the world in the mess it's in?

Although God is in full control, He allows the devil's evil and other human suffering to draw all mankind to Himself through His Son. Jesus said, 'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'7

Halloween. 'Oh, it's not so bad.' Or is it? Making the right decision counts for eternity. Forever. The road to hell is not marked with illuminated road signs, dear friends.

1 ( Leviticus 19.26); 2 (Leviticus 19.31); 3 (1 Thessalonians 5.22); 4 (Romans 12.9) ; 5 (Ephesians 5.11); 6 (Philippians 4.8); 7 (John 14.6).

This was sent to me by my friend..ITs kinda of funny cause this morning trav and I decided that our kiddos will not participate in any kind of Halloween event. After reading this it really confirmed it. I know that some points were extreme but I guess I don't view them as extreme the more that i think about it cause this day in society we have to be extreme "Jesus freaks" I mean we are up against alot of sh*t out there and cant be playing nice anymore. I am responsible what I expose my children to and this is not one of them. A personal opinion. Now if i see a family from the church taking their kids trick-or-treating i will not think they are any less "holy' or anything like that....God convicts me of "celebrating" such a holiday and not someone else... that's that. So I don't want people to feel judged by this,, Just thought it was something very interesting to know. I mean very few of us know the orgin of Halloween and how it all began...

Plus- Too many FAT kids out there i am not gonna hand out more candy to make their pancreas work harder than it has to.
Nalia cant have candy...
AND it can be expensive for the outfit. BUT might i add they sure do look CUTE!

DIY Non-toxic Playdough Recipe from Green Mom Finds

From Green Mom Finds - Making your own non-toxic play dough is a super fun rainy day activity you can do with your kids:

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups water with several drops of food coloring added*
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
Mix ingredients together in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and turn dough onto a plate to cool. Store in a covered container or plastic bag. Finished creations can be baked slowly in the oven until hardened, then painted.

This is a LONG Post!

This post is more for myself cause this pregnancy i will have no soda of ANY kind, my sugar will be a minimal to pretty much NOTHING..
Now i am not writing this to make other pregnant moms feel bad, this is just a personal thing and some crazy facts about sugar. I am writing with good intentions not bad...
Is sugar bad for you?
The white crystalline substance we know of as sugar is an unnatural substance produced by industrial processes (mostly from sugar cane or sugar beets) by refining it down to pure sucrose, after stripping away all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes and other beneficial nutrients.

What is left is a concentrated unnatural substance which the human body is not able to handle, at least not in anywhere near the quantities that is now ingested in today's accepted lifestyle. Sugar is addictive. The average American now consumes approximately 115 lbs. of sugar per year. This is per man, woman and child.

The biggest reason sugar does more damage than any other poison, drug or narcotic is twofold: (a) It is considered a "food" and ingested in such massive quantities, and
(b) The damaging effects begin early, from the day a baby is born and is fed sugar in its formula. Even mothers milk is contaminated with it if the mother eats sugar, and
(c) Practically 95% of people are addicted to it to some degree or other.
Sugar is eaten to excess
It has been said that the criteria as to whether a substance (any substance) is harmful or medically beneficial is the quantity in which it is used in the human body. To point to a dramatic illustration: we all know that the venom of a rattlesnake, a cobra, water moccasin, coral, and other venomous snakes is deadly to the human system. There are some snakes whose bite is so deadly it can cause death within a matter of seconds. Nevertheless, even snake venom, deadly as it is, has been used for therapeutic, medical purposes when used in minute quantities.

History of sugar
Whereas sugar had been around in minute quantities for several thousand years, it was practically unknown and formed an insignificant part of the average diet in the Classical civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. The Greeks (who had a word for nearly everything!) did not even have a word for it. Even in medieval Europe it was practically unknown and then only a rare delicacy in the royal courts.

During the last major Crusade that ended in 1204 some of the Christian Crusaders were introduced to sugar freely used by the Saracens. The Moors when invading and colonizing the southern part of Spain grew sugar cane on Spanish soil and refined sugar. When Spain drove out the Moors, it inherited some of the cane plantations. It was during this time that Christendom took its first big bite of the forbidden fruit and liked it.

Sugar is an unnatural chemical
Why is sugar so devastating to our health? One reason is it is pure chemical and (like heroin) through refining has been stripped of all the natural food nutrition that it originally had in the plant itself.

Heroin and sugar are arrived at by very similar processes of refinement. In producing heroin, the opium is first extracted from the poppy: The opium is then refined into morphine. The chemists then went to work on morphine and further refined it into heroin, proclaiming they had "discovered" a wonderful new pain-killer that was non-addictive. So they said.

Similarly, sugar is first pressed as a juice from the cane (or beet) and refined into molasses. Then it is refined into brown sugar, and finally into strange white crystals C12H22O, that are an alien chemical to the human system.

Sugar is addictive
A second reason that sugar is so harmful is that like heroin it is addictive, and being delectable and seductive to the taste, it is also habit forming. Starting with sugar in the baby's formula, people not only develop a strong taste for sugar but an insatiable craving for it so that they never seem to get enough of this poison.

Slow but insidious
A third reason is that the damage sugar does is slow and insidious. It takes years before it ruins your pancreas, your adrenal glands, throws your whole endocrine system out of kilter and produces a huge list of damage.

Foods are loaded with sugar
A fourth reason is the outrageous amounts of sugar civilized nations consume. Americans in particular are told how they are the best fed and best nourished people on the face of the earth. If we are talking about processed junk food - this is true.

If you examine the "foods" in any supermarket more closely and start reading labels, you will find just about everything contains sugar. Most of the foods are loaded with it - from cereals, to soups, to ketchup, to hotdogs. Even flue-cured tobacco can contain as much as 20% sugar by weight. Some cereals are as much as 50% sugar.

List of Damages
We have stated that sugar is deleterious to your health: that it is more damaging than all other narcotics combined; that it is a long term chemical poison. Just what damage does sugar do to the human body? The list is endless.

When we talk about sugar, we are including bad nutrition as a whole, since anyone who indulges in sugar has bad dietary habits per se.

Sugar is by far the leading cause of dental deterioration - cavities in teeth, bleeding gums, failure of bone structure, and loss of teeth.
Sugar is the main cause of diabetes, hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia.
It is either a significant or contributory cause of heart disease, arteriosclerosis, mental illness, depression, senility, hypertension, cancer.
It has an extremely harmful effect in unbalancing the endocrine system and injuring its component glands such as the adrenal glands, pancreas and liver, causing the blood sugar level to fluctuate widely. It has a number of other extremely damaging effects on the human body.
Some of the other effects of sugar on the body are: Increases overgrowth of candida yeast organism
Increases chronic fatigue
Can trigger binge eating in those with bulima
Increases PMS symptoms
Increases hyperactivity in about 50% of children
Increases tooth decay
Increases anxiety and irritability
Can increase or intensify symptoms of anxiety and panic in susceptible women
Can make it difficult to lose weight because of constantly high insulin levels, which causes the body to store excess carbs as fat.

Sugar can suppress your immune system and impair your defenses against infectious disease.1,2

Sugar upsets the mineral relationships in your body: causes chromium and copper deficiencies and interferes with absorption of calcium and magnesium. 3,4,5,6

Sugar can cause can cause a rapid rise of adrenaline, hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and crankiness in children.7,8

Sugar can produce a significant rise in total cholesterol, triglycerides and bad cholesterol and a decrease in good cholesterol.9,10,11,12

Sugar causes a loss of tissue elasticity and function.13

Sugar feeds cancer cells and has been connected with the development of cancer of the breast, ovaries, prostate, rectum, pancreas, biliary tract, lung, gallbladder and stomach.14,15,16,17,18,19,20

Sugar can increase fasting levels of glucose and can cause reactive hypoglycemia.21,22
